Who we are

Layerbound provides a web application used by training providers, colleges, and organisations to collect learner, applicant, and employer information through branded intake and enrolment links.

Layerbound is operated by Layerbound, based in Milton Keynes, United Kingdom.

When a training provider or organisation sends a Layerbound link, Layerbound processes responses on their behalf. The organisation is the data controller, and Layerbound acts as a data processor under their instructions in accordance with UK GDPR.

Organisations typically process learner or applicant information under lawful bases such as legitimate interest, contract, or public task, depending on their services.

What information we collect

When a learner, applicant, or employer completes a Layerbound link, we collect the responses they provide to the questions set by the organisation. These may include:
- personal details (e.g. name, contact information)
- eligibility information (e.g. right to work, funding eligibility, prior qualifications)
- availability and preferences
- programme-specific responses
- employer or business details (for employer enquiries)
- optional written responses or uploaded information

We also collect limited technical information necessary to operate the service, such as timestamps and basic browser information.

Users are not required to create a Layerbound account.

Why we collect it

We process this information solely to provide the Layerbound service to the organisation that generated the link. This allows them to:
- assess eligibility and suitability
- manage learner or employer enquiries
- support enrolment or application processes

Layerbound does not use submitted data for marketing purposes and does not use it to train artificial intelligence models.

Who can see the data

Responses are visible only to:
- the organisation that created the link
- authorised Layerbound personnel when necessary to operate or support the service

Layerbound does not sell or share data with advertisers or unrelated third parties.

Data Storage and security

Layerbound stores data on secure cloud infrastructure provided by Amazon Web Services (AWS), primarily in the United Kingdom (London region).

We use standard security protections including:
- encrypted connections (HTTPS)
- access controls
- restricted administrative access

How long data is kept

Responses are typically retained for up to 12 months after submission, unless deleted earlier by the organisation or upon request.

Certain records may be retained for longer where required by law.

Deletion and rights

If you have completed a Layerbound link, you may request access to or deletion of your data by:
- contacting the organisation that sent you the link, or
- contacting us directly at info@layerbound.com

We will work with the organisation to fulfil your request in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you believe your data has been handled improperly.
