Who we are

Layerbound provides a web application used by recruiters and organisations to confirm role-related information with candidates before interviews.

Layerbound is operated by Layerbound, based in Milton Keynes, United Kingdom.

When a recruiter sends a Layerbound link, Layerbound processes responses on behalf of that organisation. The recruiting organisation is the data controller, and Layerbound acts as a data processor under their instructions in accordance with the UK GDPR.

Recruiting organisations typically process candidate information under the lawful basis of legitimate interest for recruitment purposes.

What information we collect

When a candidate completes a Layerbound link, we collect the responses they provide to the role-specific questions set by the recruiter. These may include information such as:
- availability and notice period
- location or commute suitability
- salary expectations
- right-to-work confirmation
- responses to role-specific questions
- optional short written responses

We also collect limited technical information necessary to operate the service, such as timestamps and basic browser information.

Candidates are not required to create a Layerbound account.

Why we collect it

We process this information solely to provide the Layerbound service to the recruiting organisation that generated the link. This allows recruiters to review candidate alignment before scheduling interviews.

Layerbound does not use candidate responses for marketing and does not use them to train artificial intelligence models.

Who can see the data

Candidate responses are visible only to:
- the recruiter or organisation that created the specific link
- authorised Layerbound personnel only when necessary to operate or support the service

Layerbound does not sell or share candidate data with advertisers or unrelated third parties.

Data Storage and security

Layerbound stores data on secure cloud infrastructure provided by Amazon Web Services in the United Kingdom (London region).

Standard security protections are used including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and restricted administrative access.

How long data is kept

Candidate responses are typically retained for up to 12 months after submission, unless deleted earlier by the recruiting organisation or by request from the candidate. Certain records may be retained for longer where required by law.

Deletion and rights

If you have completed a Layerbound link, you may request access to or deletion of your responses by:
- contacting the recruiter who sent you the link, or
- contacting us directly at
amitesh@layerbound.com

We will work with the recruiting organisation to fulfil your request in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

Individuals also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office if they believe their data has been handled improperly.
