Class & Coffee × Layerbound

From an idea to a live booking workflow

Class & Coffee is a new community fitness concept launching in Cobham with a simple proposition:

Come for the training. Stay for the coffee.

Layerbound turned the concept into a live, branded booking journey for its first sessions at Coppa Club Cobham - with the operational workflow behind it.
‍

The challenge

Launch the experience without building the booking system around it

Class & Coffee needed more than a page announcing its first sessions.

Customers needed to see what was available, reserve a limited place, join a waitlist when necessary and receive the information needed to attend.

The operator also needed visibility of bookings, cancellations and customer details.Instead of configuring a traditional booking platform around the concept, the starting point was the business requirement:

How should this customer journey actually work?

Layerbound translated that into the live workflow.

What Layerbound delivered

One focused journey from discovery to booking

Layerbound created a mobile-first booking experience around the Class & Coffee brand and launch requirements.

The workflow supports:
- live session availability
- limited capacity
- bookings
- waitlists
- cancellations
- customer contact capturebooking confirmationsoperator notificationscalendar actionsvenue informationsource and UTM attributionThe launch uses one-off session dates rather than forcing the concept into a recurring class schedule it does not yet need. The result is a customer-facing journey built around how Class & Coffee wants to operate. How the launch evolvedThe workflow changed as the business changedThe concept developed significantly between the initial idea and launch. What began as complimentary fitness classes became Class & Coffee, with a new name, proposition and customer experience.During the build:the concept was renamedthe tagline was introducedclass formats changedthe launch date changedCoppa Club Cobham was confirmed as the venuethe schedule became a one-off launchcomplimentary launch sessions were separated clearly from future paid sessionsLayerbound adapted with those decisions. The workflow did not require the business to reshape itself around a fixed template. What sits behind the booking linkThe URL is only the surfaceTo the customer, Class & Coffee is a simple booking link.Underneath it is a structured operational workflow.Availability → capacity → booking → confirmation → cancellation → notification → attributionEach step carries information forward and determines what happens next. That means the public experience can stay simple while Layerbound handles the operational rules behind it.Why this mattersSmall businesses should not need to design software to design a customer journeyLaunching a new service often means combining forms, booking tools, spreadsheets, messages and manual administration. Each tool may solve one part of the process, but the business is left connecting the pieces.Layerbound approaches the problem differently. The operator explains the journey they want customers to follow.Layerbound configures the workflow around that requirement and publishes it as a branded customer experience.Class & Coffee is an early production example of that model. What happens nextFrom launch workflow to real usageThe first Class & Coffee sessions are complimentary launch sessions, with future sessions intended to become paid. The next stage is therefore about observing real customer usage. That includes understanding how customers move through the booking journey, how capacity and cancellations behave in practice, where bookings originate and what the operator needs as the concept develops. Those signals can then shape the next version of the workflow. No assumptions about scale are required. The workflow can evolve with the business. The wider Layerbound thesisDescribe the customer journey. Layerbound turns it into a working system.Businesses understand how they want to serve their customers. They should not also need to become workflow architects.Layerbound turns business requirements into branded, operational customer journeys — combining the customer-facing experience with the workflows required behind it.Today that can mean booking, availability, intake, enquiries, capacity, notifications and structured customer data.Over time, the same model can support increasingly intelligent workflows that configure, operate and improve around the business itself. The interface starts with intent. The output is a live workflow.Have a customer journey that should work better?Tell Layerbound how you want it to work. We’ll turn it into a live, branded workflow your customers can actually use.Build a workflow with Layerbound
